Best Smart Plugs That Work With HomeKit (2025)

A ranked list of the best HomeKit-compatible smart plugs for 2025, including native options, Matter picks, and HomeBridge-based workarounds for popular Kasa and Wyze plugs.

What to Look for in a HomeKit Smart Plug

A HomeKit smart plug should offer: native HomeKit support or Matter certification (avoid HomeBridge-required plugs for this use case — too much maintenance for such a simple device), reliable on/off switching, and optionally, energy monitoring (which shows power usage in Watts in the Home app). Schedule and automation support via HomeKit is standard across all legitimate HomeKit plugs.

For US outlets, a standard 2-prong or 3-prong smart plug that fits without blocking the second outlet is important for practical installation. Check plug dimensions before buying if you have tight outlet clearances.

Best Overall: Eve Energy Smart Plug

The Eve Energy Smart Plug is the top recommendation for HomeKit users. It supports HomeKit natively, has Matter and Thread support for future-proof compatibility across ecosystems, and includes energy monitoring — you can see exactly how much power any connected appliance is drawing, directly in the Home app.

Eve is a European company that has focused exclusively on Apple HomeKit since its founding. Their build quality is excellent, their app (optional but useful for historical energy data) is polished, and firmware updates are consistent. The main downside is price — typically $39–$45 — which is higher than non-HomeKit plugs.

Best Value: Meross Smart Plug MS110

The Meross MSS110 and MS110 are the best value HomeKit smart plugs on the market. Meross offers native HomeKit support at a price point of $12–$18 per plug — significantly cheaper than Eve. These are no-frills plugs: on/off control, HomeKit integration, and scheduling. No energy monitoring.

Meross plugs work reliably for basic automations (turn on a lamp at sunset, turn off a coffee maker after 30 minutes). If you need energy monitoring or Thread support, step up to Eve Energy. If you just need simple smart control of several lamps and appliances without spending much, Meross is the practical choice.

Best Matter Option: TP-Link Kasa EP25

The TP-Link Kasa EP25 is a Matter-certified smart plug with energy monitoring that works with HomeKit, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings without requiring any bridge or hub setup. At around $25, it's well-priced for a Matter plug with energy monitoring.

The EP25 connects via Wi-Fi and uses the Matter standard for pairing — scan the QR code in the Home app to add it. No Kasa app required after initial setup, though the Kasa app offers additional energy history charts and schedules if you want them. A strong choice for anyone building a mixed-ecosystem setup.

What About Kasa, Wyze, and Gosund Plugs?

Popular Wi-Fi plugs from TP-Link Kasa (non-EP25 models), Wyze, and Gosund do not support HomeKit natively. They can be added to HomeKit via HomeBridge, but for something as simple and inexpensive as a smart plug, maintaining a HomeBridge integration isn't worth it. Buy a native HomeKit or Matter plug instead — the total cost difference is $5–$15, and you avoid ongoing HomeBridge maintenance.

The exception is if you already have these plugs deployed and want to integrate them into an existing HomeBridge setup. In that case, the homebridge-tuya, homebridge-kasa, or homebridge-wyze plugins work fine for adding existing plugs to HomeKit.
